Announcement: Rob Nudds Joins Fratello As Managing Editor We have a new team member here at Fratello by Robert-Jan BroerJanuary 10, 2020 MIN READAnnouncement: Rob Nudds Joins Fratello As Managing Editor
I am very delighted to announce that we have a new team member here at Fratello. Let me introduce you to Rob Nudds, our Managing Editor.
In the last year, we’ve made significant strides towards growing Fratello. Not only did our worldwide reach increase, but also our team welcomed several new members, such as Sky Sit, Andreas Ahrens, Jorg Weppelink, Tomas Rosputinsky, and Ben Hodges, to either the fold or more advanced roles. With some familiar names and some new names, helping us cover interesting industry news, and produce in-depth articles on vintage watches and (hands-on) watch reviews of new releases, Fratello has been building towards something quite special. To help keep an ever-expanding team in check, we also added a Head of Operations, Daniel Müller. Daniel spends his time on everything besides content, like our e-boutique, translations (yes!), special projects, events, and anything else that might otherwise have slipped through the cracks.
We published more content than ever before (in 2019 we published nearly 200 articles more than in 2018) and in 2019 we had more readers than ever before, very close to 2017 and 2018 combined. Firstly, we owe our thanks to you, our readers. Thank you for your interest in our articles, videos, and podcasts. We love your feedback and take it very seriously. In fact, we received some comments about our English writing on Fratello. As you know, Fratello is originally Dutch-based and only Michael, Ben, and Sky have English as their first language. With that in mind as we look to further increase our content, we have identified a need for more structure in how we do things. So you could say it was time to get a managing editor on board and here he is: Rob Nudds.
Rob Nudds is a graduate of the British School of Watchmaking, where he earned the WOSTEP certificate. During his time at the watchmaker’s bench, he worked for the Swatch Group, servicing brands like Omega, Longines, Tissot, Rado, Certina, and Blancpain, before moving to Bremont where he became part of a small team of skilled repairers. Since 2015, he contributed articles to a number of on-line watch magazines. He left the bench in 2016 to take on an international sales role with NOMOS Glashütte before becoming a full-time watch journalist in 2019.
From now on, Rob will take care of planning our articles, editing them (ensuring it is proper English) and writing a few stories of his own. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to welcome Rob on board and am thrilled to have another industry professional join our team.
