Junghans Unveils New Black And White Models In Limited Edition Max Bill Edition Set 2020
While minimalist Bauhaus design sensibilities have inspired a wide variety of manufacturers over the years, few brands have explored the style as thoroughly or deftly as Junghans with its Max Bill series. Building on a core design from the eponymous artist and industrial designer from 1961, the series has taken the simple concept in a wide variety of directions. The new limited edition Max Bill Edition Set 2020 is one of the most striking iterations of all, taking inspiration from Bill’s “Variation 5” graphic artwork to explore the extreme contrast of black and white. This limited collector’s set contains two watches, the 34 mm Max Bill Kleine Automatic and the 40 mm Max Bill Chronoscope automatic chronograph. Both models are mechanically identical to their regular production stablemates, but receive a matte black PVD case treatment along with a special high impact matte black dial with brilliant ..

This Week in Watches — March 14, 2020

HomeThis Week In WatchesThis Week in Watches — March 14, 2020 This Week In WatchesTAG HeuerThis Week in Watches — March 14, 2020 TAG, you're it… by Michael StocktonMarch 14, 2020 MIN READThis Week in Watches — March 14, 2020It’s This Week in Watches for March 14, 2020 and we’re doing our best to keep you connected during these uncertain times.

TAG Heuer ConnectedThis past week, TAG Heuer released its third generation Connected watch powered by WearOS from Google. Now in 45mm, these watches will be offered in one of three stainless versions and a black matte titanium edition. Unlike prior editions, these watches look a lot more like traditional watches. This means sculpted lugs and the option of a traditional bracelet that’s more in keeping with the brand’s mechanical pieces.

The new Connected still requires a connection with a nearby smartphone for most of its features. On the other hand, the features have improved. An all-day — 20 hours — battery powers the watch and allows f..

Bonkers Barn Find Vintage Watches

HomeWatch TalkBonkers Barn Find Vintage Watches Watch TalkBonkers Barn Find Vintage Watches When good luck strikes by Balazs FerencziMarch 14, 2020 MIN READBonkers Barn Find Vintage WatchesWho doesn’t love a good barn find story?
We all know the feeling when we hear about yet another barn find watch story; amazement and excitement mixed with a bit of jealousy and sadness (okay, maybe a lot sometimes). It is genuinely amazing to those of us within the community that barn finds are still possible. Firstly, everybody says that the vintage market dried up years ago. Secondly, because it seems almost impossible that not everyone in the entire world is aware of the luxury watch market…
We feel excitement for the fact that there’s hope that you will also find something cool one day. Jealousy, well, that’s pretty obvious. Lastly, sadness when reality hits you and you realize that you never even won €5 with a scratch card and you are not the lucky type. What are the odds, right?
Wrong!
Wrong! Y..

Rotary Heritage Titanium Automatic GS05249/04 Watch Review

If you aren’t English, there is a good chance you haven’t heard of Rotary Watches. I happen not to be English, but being in the watch industry, I am the exception, having visited the headquarters of Rotary Watches in London a few years ago to hear about its story. Several decades ago, Rotary Watches donned the wrists of many British people with their practical pricing and Continental approach to design. Today, Rotary Watches still exists, being run out of England (not under English ownership, as I understand) and with a similar approach to value. 2020 is apparently the brand’s 125th anniversary, as the company began in 1895.
width=”560″ height=”314″ allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”> To commemorate the occasion, Rotary has released a few limited-edition watches that are as decent to look at as they are to wear on the wrist. The sportiest of them (as of early 2020) is this Rotary Limited-Edition Heritage Titanium Automatic reference GS05249/04. While I generally like this watch, I find..

Zahnd & Kormann ZK No.2 Watch

Sponsored post presented on aBlogtoWatch by advertiser
The Swiss microbrand Zahnd & Kormann was founded back in March 2016 by two friends, passionate about watches, who knew what they wanted – and what they wanted to pay – and set out to design and produce watches they would want to wear. Roger Zahnd was working in a laser technology startup in Switzerland that supplied high-end Swiss watch brands. Florian Kormann was a supply chain manager for a large Swiss telecom company. “When you grow up in Switzerland, watches are everywhere,” says Zahnd. “My first real watch, a TAG Heuer, was a gift from my grandfather back when I was 15 years old. Since then, I developed a fascination for watches. Florian is also a real watch lover, collecting watches for quite a while now.

But it was never quite enough. “We both always had the dream of creating something on our own, something long lasting,” says Zahnd. “And so, one evening I asked Florian, ‘why not create our own watch brand?’ The intention..

For this week’s episode of Pre-Owned Picks, I selected Rolex Sea-Dwellers from 5 different generations. From the first reference to the current steel model on steroids.
I was so proud back in 2003 when I purchased my Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 from 1996. It was a bit of a stealthy Submariner, without that cyclops but with the chronometer-certified movement inside. Water-resistant to 1,220 meters, and with the cool-looking helium valve in the case band. The sapphire crystal was thick and sat much higher on the ..

Montblanc Revamps Heritage And Star Legacy Collections With New Models For 2020

Over the past few years, few brands have changed their offerings as dramatically as Montblanc. Fully embracing its legacy as the successor to the legendary and long-running Minerva Watch Company, the marque has turned its design focus away from aggressive, design-forward modernist pieces towards heritage inspired pieces celebrating the long history of the Minerva brand. For its 2020 novelties, Montblanc has turned its attention to Minerva designs of the turn of the early 1900s along with the ‘40s and ‘50s, adding a selection of rich colors to the mix in five distinctive models across the Heritage and Star Legacy lines. These include the Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm, the Star Legacy Chronograph Day & Date 43 mm, the Heritage Monopusher Chronograph, the Heritage Automatic, and the flagship Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition 100.

Without a doubt, the most ambitious of the new offerings is the Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph Limited Edition 100. The style first debuted a..

AVI-8 Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Hands-On Review

HomeHands-OnAVI-8 Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Hands-On Review Hands-OnAVI-8AVI-8 Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Hands-On Review Get ready for take-off by Rob NuddsMarch 13, 2020 MIN READAVI-8 Spitfire Type 300 Automatic Hands-On ReviewThe AVI-8 Spitfire Type 300 Automatic is one of the latest watches from the Aviation-obsessed brand. It also happens to be one of the most accomplished in terms of specs, design execution, and price. I spent a week alternating between two of the four available colorways and here’s what I think about it…
To be quite frank, I’m finding having my preconceptions shattered so regularly quite exhausting. I’ve covered AVI-8 releases in the past, but I’d never had the chance to go hands-on with the brand’s products before. And then, just like buses, two came along at once. I didn’t really start out with a negative view of the brand; rather, I was just a little apathetic. Small, new brands are popping up all over the place. And while I am a huge fan of the little guy..

As the brand hopes to kick-off its next 60-year cycle with a rush of positivity, the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi promises to boost production capacity for the future.
