If you’re looking for a lush dial with pared-down neoclassicism, you came to the right place. What’s that you say? Your partner wants the same? Well, whatever your tastes, Bovet is here for you. The Miss Audrey and Monsieur Bovet watches offer a creative solution for couples looking to sport the same style.

Bovet is, at its heart, all about extravagance. Artisanal decoration, personalized miniature painted on dials, highly-decorated skeletonized tourbillons, and erotic watches. That makes for quite the catalog! But those are just a few examples from nearly a century of Bovet’s impressive and diverse design. The new Miss Audrey and Monsieur Bovet perfectly embrace the wilder side of this alternative Swiss watchmaker.

Green-Obsessed Amadeo Conversion System.

The first thing we need to mention is Bovet’s Amadeo Conversion System. It took seven years to develop such a smart solution but here’s it how it works: the straps can be disconnected by pushing the two cabochons on either side of the bow. The smart strap system allows the wristwatch to turn easily into a pocket, a table clock, or a pedant watch. Undeniably it’s an ideal wardrobe component that makes dressing for different occasions easier than ever.

The case

Let’s have a look at Miss Audrey to begin with. A stainless steel case garnished with 103 round-cut diamonds surrounds the green dial. This neoclassical take on femininity places the enameled Guilloché dial front and center. By pairing this complex, regimented surface with the organic full-grain alligator strap, a wonderful harmony is achieved. If alligator leather isn’t your thing, you can wear this watch on satin, or a rhodium-plated silver necklace.

The watch case is a diminutive 34mm wide. Unsurprisingly, it is only water-resistant to 30 meters. This is, however, sufficient for daily wear. The green dial with lotus pattern is decorated with wavy silver-tone hands. Four diamond hour markers and a date window at 6 o’clock are the only elements that interrupt that remarkable guilloché pattern.

Bonjour, Monsieur

The Monsieur Bovet option is one for connoisseurs of fine watchmaking, that is for sure. It boasts two connected dials, one on either side of the case. The green dial that matches Miss Audrey is decorated with the same guilloché technique. The opposite side of the case, however, tells a completely different story.

The green side with Arabic numerals highlights the clear but elegant design of the 43 mm case, while the other side shows off the heart of the watch. On the transparent side, the time is read via an off-center dial. It is a miniaturized version of the larger face but features less complicated hands. Monsieur Bovet can be worn on the green alligator strap or an 18-karat rhodium-plated silver chain.

Bovet’s Calibers

Inside Miss Audrey is the in-house developed and produced Bovet caliber 11BA15. This self-winding movement shows the hours, the minutes, and the date. It will run at 28,800vph for 42 hours on a full wind. Monsieur Bovet, on the other hand, is rocking the Caliber 13BM09A1 which is hand-wound and features hours, minutes, double coaxial seconds, and a power reserve indicator. It boasts an impressive seven-day power reserve and operates at a slower 21,600vph.

Extravagance in Watches

These watches certainly make a statement. They are show-stoppers. They look fantastic when worn on the wrist, the neck, or even in the pocket. The brand wonderfully captured its rich capability of creating flamboyant timepieces for both sexes. Also, its new take on classic pendant/pocket watches is a positive step for the industry. The price for Miss Audrey is CHF 20,500, while Monsieur Bovet in white gold costs CHF 53,000. Although unpictured, Monsieur Bovet is also available in red gold for red gold costs CHF 50,000.
