Maurice de Mauriac Stan Smith Signature Watch Hands-On + Interview

The Maurice de Mauriac Stan Smith Signature watch is an ode to a pastime the Zurich-based brand enjoys (well, at least one of them). For as long as I’ve known Daniel Dreifuss (founder of Maurice de Mauriac), he has enjoyed tennis and sports shoes. In this timepiece, he gets to celebrate both, as well as an icon of fashion. It was not two days ago that I was at a meeting and noticed a gentleman wearing the iconic, mostly white with green trim, tennis shoes produced by Adidas with Stan Smith’s face on the tongue.

“Hey, I know those shoes,” is what I thought when seeing them, especially after learning about the Stan Smith watch project some time ago from Maurice de Mauriac. Later in this article, I have an exclusive interview with Stan Smith, himself, but first let’s talk about the timepiece itself since there are some fun features in it.

In brushed steel and 42mm-wide (about 9mm-thick) with 100 meters of water resistance, the case of the Stan Smith Signature watch has a smooth, rounded..

Casio Limited Edition Metal G-Shock Watches In Camouflage Print

I’m no fashionista, but it seems to me that the camouflage aesthetic is all the rage in the world of high street fashion. Fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga have all taken the traditional camouflage motif and put their own spin on it. And now, so has Casio. The brand has taken its popular GMW-B5000 and MTG-B1000 watches and have given them highly fashionable camouflage colorways.

Let’s begin with the GMW-B5000TCM-1, which is based on the highly popular GMW-B5000 watches. For the uninitiated, the GMW-B5000 is Casio’s high-end square G-Shock and they feature metal cases. In the case of the GMW-B5000TCM-1 (no pun intended), the case is titanium and so is the bracelet.

The black camouflage pattern is done in a digital-style, giving it a distinct pixelated look. It’s also done in an interesting way. The surface is first given a black DLC coating. In the second step, lasers engrave tiny pixels to create the digital camouflage pattern. Completing the look are gold accents on t..

Royal Falcon Fleet 135, The “Spaceship For The Ocean”

The outer space and the seas are interconnected by the Royal Falcon Fleet 135 superyacht, designed by Porsche Design Studio. The only request that the developer Royal Falcon Fleet had for the design of the vessel was for it to be in the style of a catamaran. It was commissioned in 2009; the final result proves that it was worth the wait.

The idea of the ship was to create the equivalent square footage of a 210 ft monohull yacht with a length of 135 ft.

Four decks occupy the RFF135 ‘s layout.

RFF135 was constructed by renowned shipbuilders Kockums AB in Nynäshamn, Sweden and the project was shrouded in secrecy for several years.

The upper sundeck has the bridge control station, helm chairs, jacuzzi, bar and sun lounge. Combine that with good weather and you will have a great day.

The mid-deck includes the pilothouse, as well as the owner’s, guests’ and captain’s cabins. The owner’s private lounge and owner’s private dining and entertaining exterior deck are also on this level.

The..

Greubel Forsey GMT Sport Watch Hands-On Debut

“It’s not really a sport watch,” says Greubel Forsey co-founder Stephen Forsey as he shared a sneak preview of the lovely new Greubel Forsey GMT Sport timepiece with me. “It does have ‘Sport’ in the name,” I commented… Indeed, the half-million-dollar super-luxury watch is not intended for vigorous sport activities but, apparently, if you are very wealthy on land you also need to be very wealthy underwater. High-end watches are addictive, so it makes sense that the wearer of a fine timepiece also wants to be able to go swimming with it. Whether or not this logic applies to you, it is the stated reason Greubel Forsey decided to make yet another watch for short sleeves, and one that you can take into the pool.

Water resistant to 100 meters, and with a brand new style of titanium case, the Greubel Forsey GMT Sport is the answer to an even more comfortable daily wear. One can’t help but feel that, while the GMT Sport isn’t visually similar to a Richard Mille watch, it is certainly a respon..

New Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition Watch For “No Time To Die”

Omega and the James Bond franchise have been partners in style since 1995, with the watchmaker supplying Seamasters for the world’s most famous spy in an array of versions and complications (occasionally even including lasers). For the ninth film in this partnership, the upcoming “No Time To Die,” Omega has created a unique and ruggedly handsome new Seamaster 007 Edition: the reference 210.90.42.20.01.001.

Like most of the watches that have graced Bond’s wrist in the 57 years of 007 films from big crown Submariners to quartz Seiko chronographs, the latest Seamaster 007 Edition is a reflection of the current horological zeitgeist. Building on the base design of the current Seamaster Professional, the 007 Edition adds a generous helping of fauxtina warmth.

Both the aluminum bezel and dial feature a tropical aged treatment, going from the standard black to a very dark matte brown while the dial text and lume fills have been rendered in a deep old radium khaki. Redd accents on the Seamas..
