COUTURE Announces New Physical Event Dates For August 2021

While the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact nearly every major in-person event, signs of a return to physical trade shows are beginning to appear on the horizon for the watch industry. COUTURE has just announced new dates for its planned physical show, now scheduled for August 24 – August 26, 2021 at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, with a preview on the evening of August 23. In addition, the new dates place the COUTURE show concurrent with the Las Vegas ..

Swatch Group Cancels Time To Move Event Amid Coronavirus Fears

While the luxury watch trade show landscape has changed drastically heading into 2020, the latest change to the lineup of events might be the most unexpected of all. As part of its efforts to divest itself from the traditional tentpole Baselworld event, Swatch Group had planned to unveil its 2020 novelties at its self-hosted Time to Move show in Zurich from March 4-6, 2020. This morning Swatch Group public relations announced that Time to Move has been cancelled, citing the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak currently spreading worldwide from China as a reason. The group is seeking to avoid international travel as much as possible during this tense period to avoid further transmission of the disease.
The announcement comes as a shock to many in the industry, with many journalists and brand partners already having booked accommodations for the event. It is unclear at this point as well how this cancellation will affect Swatch Group’s marketing plans for 2020, as many announcements from brand..

We thought it would be interesting to share some impressions of that event, as Omega also took the opportunity to talk about their connection with military watches.
In the past years, I’ve had many experiences which I would have never had if I would still be working in real estate. Visiting NYC twice for two cool Omega events (one being our own Speedy Tuesday event in collaboration with Omega and the other this James Bond launch) is a privilege. Enjoy my report.

Visiting The ‘Watch It All About’ Event In England

In early November, I had the chance to visit the Watch It All About (WIAA) microbrand event held just outside of Rugby, England. With a humble motorway hotel as the easily accessible (and reassuringly secure) location for the event, several emerging (and one or two more established) names made the journey to show off their latest wares. The effective headliner of the event was Christopher Ward, with other well-known British micros like Pinion and Hamtun joining the line-up.
