The Feynman Cove: Live on Kickstarter now Introducing the Feynman Cove, a versatile compressor-style watch from the makers of the Feynman One.by Partner ContentFebruary 20, 2020 MIN READThe Feynman Cove: Live on Kickstarter now
Feynman Timekeepers, an independent from Singapore, is currently on Kickstarter with its inaugural dive-watch, the Feynman Cove. The Cove intends to create a versatile dive silhouette, functional for functional diving, and suitable for wear in all settings.
Following the success of its first model, the modern dress-piece Feynman One, the brand returns with it’s take on the ubiquitous dive-watch. Choosing to go with a compressor-style case, the Feynman Cove is the result of a year’s design and testing.
The project was conceived with 3 design guidelines: wearability under all conditions, legibility, and thoughtful lume design. The result is a modern tool-watch which is equal parts functionality, versatility and refinement.
The case sees the use of lyre lugs, and integrated crown-guards for both the time-setting and bezel crowns. It sits at just 12.8mm in height, and the slimness is further amplified through the sculpted case-sides. A 40mm diameter, and lug-to-lug measurement of 44mm, ensures that the watch wears well on most wrist-sizes.
Shrouded by the double-domed sapphire crystal is a dial which is reminiscent of early “sector” dial designs, with the hour markers etched subtly into the main dial. As with all Feynman watches, the Cove contains a petite seconde sub-dial at the 7 o’clock. The center dial features a wave pattern in black, which reveals itself in the dark.
The lume is the real highlight of the watch, with varied combinations of Swiss Super-LumiNova used in each variant.
The Feynman Cove collection features 3 colour variants: the Vintage Black, Eclipse Blue, and the limited edition Founder’s Edition Teal. Each model will also come with a differently plated rotor. The watch is driven by the venerable ETA 2895-2, in Top-Grade and Fully-decorated configuration.
FKM-grade rubber straps come default with each Cove, and features a mid-line pattern referencing the center dial design. The FKM class of rubber was chosen for its superior performance under extreme temperature conditions, resistance to various chemicals, resistance to deformation, as well as comfort on wrist.
The Feynman Cove is now available through its Kickstarter Campaign here.
